The two extensions on B2B credit limits are:

  • Checkout Validator- one blocks checkout when a customer exceeds their limit.

  • Credit Information for Customer account- shows customers their balance on their account page.

1. Enabling the Checkout Validator

What it does: Stops customers from placing an order if the order total would exceed their available credit limit.

Steps

  1. Go to the Checkout Editor using the button on the app's setup page (or Settings → Checkout in your Shopify admin).

  2. In the sidebar, click Add block.

  3. Search for checkout-validator (listed under Extend B2B Credit Limits) and select it.

  4. Click Save.

Configure checkout behavior

Once the block is added, click it in the checkout editor to open its settings panel. Under Checkout behavior you'll see two toggles:

Setting What it does

Allow app to block checkout

When on, orders are rejected if the credit selection exceeds the customer's available limit. This must be turned on for the validator to actually enforce limits — leaving it off means the block is present but passive.

Include block in Shop Pay

Extends the same validation to the Shop Pay accelerated checkout flow. Turn on if you support Shop Pay.

From this same panel you can also click Manage app to jump back into the app's own settings, or Remove block to take the validator off checkout.

What the customer sees at checkout

Once enabled, a B2B Purchase Control block appears in the order summary during checkout. It only shows up if a credit limit is assigned and payment terms are applied on the company.

The block breaks the order down for the customer:

  • Order Total — the full order amount.

  • Deposit — the upfront amount due now, shown as both a dollar figure and a percentage.

  • To Finance — the remaining balance that would be applied against credit.

  • Company Credit, Location Credit, Customer Limit — each shown as used / limit, so the customer can see exactly which level of credit their order draws from.

If the order would push any of those over their available credit, the block shows a red warning banner (e.g. "Exceeds credit limit by $160.00"). With Allow app to block checkout turned on, the customer won't be able to complete the order until it's brought back within limit.

2. Add Credit Info to Customer Accounts

What it does: Adds a "Credit Information" section to the customer's account so they can see their remaining credit and usage.

Note: unlike the checkout validator, this extension lives on its own page inside Customer Accounts.

Steps

  1. In your Shopify admin, go to Settings → Customer accounts.

  2. In the New Customer Accounts section, click Customize.

  3. On the profile page, add the B2B Credit Purchase Info block.

  4. Save your changes.

Once added, customers will see their credit balance and usage directly on their account profile page.

What the customer sees on their account

The block adds a credit-purchase-info page to the customer account's Accounts area, with two tabs:

Company Credit tab

  • Company Overview — the company's overall Credit Limit, Available balance, and amount Used.

  • Locations — a searchable table of the company's locations, each with its own Limit, Available balance, and a View link to drill into that location.

Users tab

  • User Overview — the signed-in user's own Credit Limit, Available, and Used amounts (their personal slice of the company credit).

  • Authorized Users — a searchable, paginated table of everyone authorized on the company account, showing Name, Email, Role (e.g. Admin, Buyer), their individual Limit and Available balance, and a View link per user.

In short: this page gives each B2B customer full visibility into credit at every level — company-wide, per location, and per authorized user.
